Lisa Olivia Munn was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Kimberly Schmid is of Chinese heritage and was born within Vietnam. The father of her Winston Barrett Munn is from an American family with long-standing roots in the American South. Olivia's parents separated at age two. Her family consisted of her mother, who served with the United States Air Force, as well as her stepfather. While the family left Oklahoma and stayed in various areas, she was raised within Tokyo, Japan. In Japan, she acted as an actor in local theatre performances, and later was a Japanese fashion model. Olivia, who had relocated with her family to Los Angeles in order to fulfill her desire to become an actress, continued to work towards this goal when the family moved back to America. She started her acting career in a tiny role. Her career then gained momentum when she was cast as Mily Acuna in Hawaii's lensed television series Beyond the Break (2006). In 2007 she appeared as Rob Schneider's Receptionist. She hosts "The Daily Nut", "Formula D" and "The Formula D Podcasts" on G4. Her passion for surfing has been evident following the television show Beyond the Break. Also, she has an unofficial black belt in Taekwondo. When she was two years old her mother remarried, this time to an officer from the US Air Force. Although the family moved numerous times, the vast majority of her time was spent in Tokyo Japan, the location that her stepfather was employed by the military. She completed her journalism studies in the University of Oklahoma and also majored in Japanese, dramatic arts and acting.
