Born Kellie Dawn Pickler on June 28 1986 Pickler experienced a turbulent childhood. She was just two when her mother left her to escape from an abusive marriage. Pickler had her mother back within her family by the year 1995. She took the care of Pickler. It didn't work out as planned. Her grandparents took care of her from 12 up to the age of the age of adulthood. Pickler had to be busy with her young children in absence of their parents. The mother of three admitted she did not find time to attend school and began learning to be a domestic worker at an early stage. Pickler participated in the cheerleading teams of her high school and middle school. North Stanly High School, which she attended from 2004 when she graduated, was her alma mater.
